Ke Huy Quan, celebrated for his roles in ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ and ‘The Goonies,’ makes a dynamic return to the big screen in ‘Love Hurts,’ set for release on February 7, 2025. This action-comedy marks Quan’s first leading role in decades, portraying Marvin Gable, a seemingly mild-mannered realtor with a concealed past as a hitman.
The film reunites Quan with his ‘Goonies’ co-star Sean Astin, who plays Cliff, Marvin’s boss. Their on-screen chemistry rekindles the camaraderie from their 1985 adventure, adding a layer of nostalgia for fans. Additionally, Jeff Cohen, another ‘Goonies’ alum, visited the set, bringing together three original cast members and creating a heartfelt reunion.
Directed by Jonathan Eusebio, known for his work as a stunt coordinator on films like ‘John Wick’ and ‘Deadpool 2,’ ‘Love Hurts’ promises high-octane action sequences. Eusebio’s transition to directing brings a fresh perspective to the genre, ensuring that the fight scenes are both authentic and exhilarating.
The ensemble cast includes Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose as Rose, Marvin’s former partner-in-crime, and Daniel Wu as Knuckles, Marvin’s crime lord brother. Their performances add depth and intensity to the narrative, creating a compelling dynamic that keeps audiences engaged.
